Picnic/Silent Auction Thank You

It's hard to believe that the summer is over and fall is already in the air. Temperatures have moderated, schools have reopened after their summer recess and the rhythm of life returns to a more orderly beat. I hope that your summer was filled with opportunities for relaxation and recreation shared with family and friends.

Naturally we have missed so many of you over these 12 weeks while you traveled and took the well deserved rest and relaxation from the normal work and grind of daily life. Here at St. Catherine's despite the summer months, we have been busy and hard at work with Camp St. Catherine and preparation for the annual Parish Picnic and new this year, Silent Auction.

Actually, after all this work, on September 21st we held our Parish Picnic and Silent Auction. It was a huge success and made possible by each and every one of you!!! Our special thanks to Mrs. Lori Young who chaired the event. We are also deeply grateful to Carol Rocha and her committee for the Silent Auction: Sandra Kopka, Donna Mustillo, Joyce Garzon, Julie Quinn, Lisa Schoberl, and Joyce Nahama. Also, special thanks to: Ken Mandoli, our Master of Ceremonies; our Prayer Shawl Ministry; Dan Dawson, Katharine Lawrence and Loretta Cuccia; Tom Lawrence, our grill master; our grillers: Ushers, Readers, Rosary Society members; Ellen Russo, chili cook off; Elizabeth Bartolo for the beautiful floral arrangements; Diane & Tom Corrigan for selling the 50/50 tickets and, once again, our local ShopRite for their generous food donations.

Also, our Knights of Columbus for set-up and clean-up as well as tending the beer garden and special thanks to Bill Smith, beer and wine garden set up; Wayne Hartmann and Mike Marion for table set-up; Patti Longordo for the children's crafts; and Mary Evers, Catherine O'Rourke, Gillian Evers and Courtney Tampone for the children's games.

Thanks to Tom Hyland and the Divine Trio for the wonderful music; Donna Baker, Janise Nelson and Judy Ruvo, our ice cream servers; Caitlin Haggerty for the great face painting as well as Judy and Chuck LaTournous and family and Greg and Tina Horun and family.

Last but not least, many thanks to our entire 8th grade confirmation class for their help both with set-up the day before and on the day of event, as well as our many, many high school students.
